Marianne is the CUBE’s English teacher. Raised in Ohio, Marianne learned early how to be a community builder. Her love of the outdoors and education stems from leading young women on wilderness trips each summer. She graduated with a B.A. in English Literature from The Ohio State University, and since graduation, she’s taught high school ELA in New York City, researched reading readiness in early education, and earned a U.S. Fulbright teaching grant in Malaysia. She also recently completed a M.F.A in Creative Writing from the University of Washington, where she spent two years doing reading, writing, and learning within a culture of artists as she dived into the ways in which her thoughts and the act of storytelling intersect with the living world. She’s excited to build community with her students, which is exactly why the mission to elevate student voices at the CUBE is so important to her.
