In this camp, students learned about the science of concrete, planting, and the human-centered design process. They design, prototyped, mixed, and poured their own concrete planter. Their designs ranged from squares to octagons to plane-shapes. On the second day, students put together a moisture sensor that sits in their plants and programmed a light that flashes when the plant needs water. All of our campers got to leave the camp with their smart planter, and we hope that with their moisture sensors, all their plants are still alive!
